I hear, I forget; I see, I remember; I do, I understand. We at SNV GLOBAL believe that learning is active. Children need to make discoveries, connections, and construct meaning from their own experience.
Teacher is a guide
Teacher is facilitator and a guide. The teacher not only instructs but also encourages the child to question and analyze. He/she is not just a provider of information but an inspirer to inculcate creativity & enthusiasm to make children discover, think and innovate in the subjects what they are learning.
Learning is social
Man cannot work in isolation; he is a social being. Peer working & learning is emphasized among Children to learn from each other by working in groups. This enhances listening and speaking skills, team work and social skills, thus preparing the child for real life situations.
Child is a scientist
Each child has an innate desire to learn and apply learning to new meaningful situations. We believe that learning which occurs through reflection and the child's own thinking is permanent and lays a strong foundation for the future.
Assessment is continuous
Assessments are continuous, both informal and formal. Assessments are done through observations, worksheets, and tests. It provides the teacher information about the child's strengths and weaknesses which enables him/her to chart the individual's education plan.
Parents are partners
A mutual understanding between the school and the parents is essential. We believe that parents know their children best and are influential in their progress. We communicate regularly with parents to share information and discuss the child's progress. We also welcome parent’s participation in school activities.
